Birthday TIme

My daughter had a birthday party recently. I am late in getting photos up but it was a fun time celebrating. The theme was forest,butterflies, fairies, lady bugs, etc. My little girl will be grown up before I know it as time flies by and I wanted to make sure we had a "little girl" party! :) It was fun!

Butterflies were found everywhere.

This was the prize bar. Instead of making up favor bags ahead of time, I allowed the guests to pick out their own items and place them in a bag.

Some decorations...Have fun! :)

I loved the butterfly napkin rings (from Oriental Trading company)

Happy Resurrection Day!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

This is just a fun photo. My daughter thought it was funny that the store had bunnies bigger than her.
Some of our Easter eggs:
My 5 blessings on Easter morning:
HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

He was pierced for us!

Today we wore red dots on our palms. It was a reminder that Jesus died on the cross for each of us. All day, when we looked at our hands, we remembered, and were thankful. We are thankful for this everyday but this reminded us over and over again what a Sacrifice was made on this day in history, for you and for me!

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5

Glimpses of some of the things I am thankful for this week in our home...

This little truck driver...
Music in our home played by my children....
....music that gives glory to our Lord and Savior....
...music that sounds beautiful to the ear!

These little hands that joyfully help.....

Brother and sister as close friends!....
brother and brother playing board games....
Letters for my children, from their pen pals in Kenya....

The Old Paths Poem

I liked the old paths, when
Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married
BEFORE having children!

Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.

Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.

Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
A
nd children looked decent.

People loved the truth,
And
hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!

Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded nor
mal;
And crying sounded sincere.

Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness;
And divorce was unthinkable.
The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God
was welcome!

We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school;
And
preached from house to house

To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!

Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!

A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a
changed life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.

Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!

Laws were based on the Bible;
Homes read the Bible;
And churches taught the Bible.

God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;And the Holy Spirit was respected.

Church was where you found Christians
on the Lord's day, rather than in the garden,
on the creek bank, on the golf course,
Or being entertained somewhere els
e.
I still like the old paths the best!
