A Bunch of crafty things!

We love creative adventures in our house- especially us girls. Recently the creative juices have been flowing and we enjoy our relaxation time doing/making things.

Here is my (middle) daughter's second knitted hat. This one only took her 4 days and is a baby gift. She is certainly enjoying her new found ability to knit! :)

I started making fabric flowers. We may use some of these to embellish her knitted creations, but I turned a few into barrettes for my girls since large flowers in the hair are back in fashion. That's a trend I think is lovely!

Here is a floral one in my youngest daughter's hair. She is growing her "bangs" out so these will come in quite handy!

...and here my oldest is also wearing one. This one is recycled from one of her dad's old dress shirts that he thought was starting to look too worn out!
My oldest has also been helping me cover hangers. I started and enlisted her help as we hope to give gifts of 10 or twelve hanger sets next Christmas. The hangers are so nice and practical. THey make your closet look nice but also help your garments stay on the hanger - instead of slipping off and ending up on the floor. (ugh!) I will try to post how to make these later on!

Then if you are one of the many people out there reading and enjoying and being so inspired by this great book....

I thought you might like this link I found. They are inspirational quotes by Ann. It's a free printable. I printed them, laminated and cut them out and then tied each set of four with a ribbon. They make a nice small gift!

Here is where you can find these nice cards!!
Enjoy!

First Knitted baby Hat

My (middle) daughter started knitting this year. She is just learning as she goes and she even has me trying some of the easier things.

She started with scarves (I posted here of her first) and then she made wash cloths.
She completed her first baby hat with week and it is going HERE to the SAVE THE CHILDREN Federation to help save a newborn's life!

Muffin Tin Monday

Today Muffin Tin Monday had no assigned theme.

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

We had a little big of spaghetti (leftovers! ) with a cheese sticks, some carrots, and pretzels with chocolate pudding. A fun juice pouch too.
There were some leftover football napkins and football rice krispy treats from the super bowl get-together last evening at our relative's home...so they were added as an extra special treat at the end.

HAPPY MUFFIN TIN MONDAY!

Valentines with a message

My girls are in a Missionary Girls Club at our church.
They meet once a month or so. It is run by a few of the "older" woman of our assembly. This too is so sweet to see the older woman teaching the younger.
(It is a wonderful thing to do for young girls or young people in general if you are looking for a club to start within your church, etc.) They learn about a new missionary each month and make a craft or write letters, etc for them. Sometimes the missionaries are in town and can speak to the group. They also do other things to help out or witness to others.
This past time was during a snowstorm so they had to cancel it. One of the leaders sent home packets of the craft for us to do at home. I am so thankful for it because if was such a fun time with my girls, sitting and making these sweet Valentines. They are going to be handed out at the church service we do at a local retirement home.

The hearts are woven together (a little tricky at first) and they make a pocket. Inside the pocket, we placed a white heart with John 3:16 printed witht he VALENTINE letters in red. The front said Happy Valentine's Day with our church name and the girls were to sign their names. We also included a tract about John 3:16!
"For God so loved the World that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!"

Here is my (middle) daughter with her favorite heart Valentine she made! :)

This Moment: Sleeping Beauty

This is a moment captured... and I know below it is written that the photos are to have no words but today I can not stay quiet- but I will keep it short. This moment came this week while the family had a late snack together. My little princess was already getting tired. As I cleaned up, I noticed her like this. The more I looked at the photo, the more I saw. Notice the crumbs right in front of her arm? and how about her reflection in front of her. :)

All of life's little moments as a mother are a joy and blessing given to us by the Lord, it's about pausing, even stopping, to appreciate, love and be thankful for them!

When the world turns white!

God created such a beautiful world for us to live our lives in; beautiful scenery all around us for our life's race. Do we stop and awe at His great creation? Do we stop to say Thank you to our wonderful Lord and Savior. What an amazing artist, the best ever. What a mighty God!...and worthy of our praises!!

I thought I'd share some photos I took this week. I actually had to stop the car on the back road to our home, so that I could take a few of these. They were just too beautiful to pass up!

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things."
~Philippians 4:8

"The heavens and the earth are not to be worshipped, as some foolish men attempt to do. They are given to lift our hearts out of our selfish perspectives and raise them to heights of praise for what our Creator is." ~ Bob Schultz
