God of beauty

"God is whimsical, transcendent, and like a playful dancer, weaving steps and songs into the pattern of our days. As the author of humor, delight, tastes, sounds, feelings, touch, and affection, he tucks beauty along our pathway to show us more of his artistry."

"God's personality is to be a provider of beauty as the very expression of his nature." from Dancing With My Father by Sally Clarkson

I need to keep myself in tuned with God and remember to gain my strength and all I need from Him and Him alone.
I, as mother, am the conductor to my family's lives. There is no one else who will see that I get what I need to continue conducting so that my husband and children can have a sweet song for the Lord but myself ...so into His word I need to dwell so He can help me, guide me, encourage me! Thank you, Lord for being all I need!

Home and the Great Commision

I read this article entitled Home and the Great Commission .
I wanted to call my (older) daughters over to read it but they were both sleeping. (We've been very busy lately.) No matter their ages, I love seeing my children peacefully sleeping. Anyway, I will definately have them read the link from here. I hope you might click on the link and read it, too!
....Promoting Beautiful Womanhood...

Taken from the article:
"Imagine, though, a different sort of place: Home
Home: as a hub for ministry and discpleship.
Home: where children are brought up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord, diligently trained to impact the world outside of their doors.
Home: headquarters for visionary men to lead and inspire their families.
Home: the domain of visionary women who desire to bless their families, their churches, and their communities.
Home: a place where those who understand the critical importance of a strong, biblically-functioning family unit to the well-being of society flourish."

"It is in her own home that this warmth of heart and this openness of hand are first to be shown. It is as a wife and mother that her gentleness performs its most sacred ministry.”

- from The Wife’s Part in The Family by J.R. Miller

Easter

It has been awhile since I posted so I wanted to do a quick post. We've been busy working on our home( mostly with outside work) as well as working through our (home)school lessons. We've had a lot of fun times as well!
Here are a few photos from my Easter...
My girls...
My Boys...
I feel very blessed as a mother! The Lord is so good!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful time celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior! He is now sitting on the right hand of our Father in Heaven! Hallelujah!

Our Green Meal

Just for fun... for St. Patrick's Day...

We had a green meal. It was very good. Even the children ate and enjoyed the soup.

We had Cream of Asparagus Soup, homemade green bread, and Watergate salad.

Cream of Asparagus Soup
2(15oz.)cans asparagus
3 chicken bouillon cubes
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 c. light cream
3 T. butter
2 T. flour

Drain cans of asparagus, reserving liquid. Chop asparagus stalks, reserve tips and set aside. Add water to reserved asparagus liquid to equal 4 cups. Put into 2 quart saucepan with chopped onion and chopped asparagus stalks. Add bouillon and parsley. Simmer 10 minutes with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat; blend until smooth in processor or blender. Melt butter in saucepan, add flour to make a paste. Slowly stir in soup stock, stirring until thick and creamy. Slowly stir in cream. Add tips. Serve warm.

Great Quote!

This is such a great quote about the Woman and her relationship to Man (her husband).

"The Woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam;

not made out of his head to rule over him,

nor out of his foot to be trampled upon by him,

but out of his side to be equal with him,

under his arm to be protected

and near his heart to be beloved."

Vintage ABC Bible Verse Cards

Here are some vintage Bible verse cards I've made recently. They are great for kids to review their ABCs as well as for Bible verses, etc. (They look so cute too!) They are actual vintage pieces someone took the time to scan in and share! I have made a few sets of these cards. They make great little gifts too.
